Montgomery Gentry in Redding!

Join the forum discussion on this post - (1) Posts

Are you a country music lover?  If so, don’t miss this great concert, sure to be full of energy if you are familiar with the band.  Eddie Montgomery and Troy Gentry have been a top country duo since 1999 when they came onto the scene with a more “alternative” version of country music…with a louder and more catchy sound than most.

Now Montgomery Gentry is coming to Big League Dreams and playing at the Fenway Park stadium on July 17th for the northstate.  Whether you just want a fun night out are are avid fans and want to get up and personal with the duo, this is a small venue and should prove to provide a great concert without having to travel to Arco arena for a large act.  For times and ticket information visit the Redding Convention Center or call 530.225.4130.

Redding 4th of July Fireworks Cancelled!

Join the forum discussion on this post - (1) Posts

As most of us have expected (and actually hoped for) both the City of Redding and the City of Anderson have announced that the fireworks shows that they were putting on in celebration of the 4th of July have been cancelled.  This doesn’t come as a shock to local residents who have been battling the blazes of the over 100 fires that have plagued the northstate for over a week now.  With resources scarce and the ability to battle new potential blazes next to impossible most local residents can breathe a sigh of relief.

The City of Anderson has rescheduled their event, Anderson Explodes!, for August 30th at the Shasta District Fairgrounds while the City of Redding hasn’t yet announced if they will be rescheduling the ever popular Redding Freedom Festival.  We’ll let you know as we learn more!

THE POSITIVE SIDE: We are using this opportunity to have our own get-together at our house which we have never done before since you can’t see the fireworks from it!  Next year we’ll resume our normal tradition of watching from the Park Marina area but this year is a “forced” break from tradition…something that is not always bad!  So make the best of it and let us know what you are planning on doing for the 4th of July holiday!
