We have all heard about it…but what does it really mean? I had gotten an email with information from a home stager on what feng shui really is and why it is so “important” when staging. For some of us it may be a load of bunk but others won’t buy a home if it doesn’t give off the right “vibes”…so here is the information in a nutshell in case you were wondering. This information was given to me by the website how2homestage.com and I will post more from them down the road. Enjoy and happy “feng shui”!

How You Can UseThe 5 Elements Of Feng Shui
What are they and why you should care?
Well, as silly as all this may seem to some of you, having balance of the 5 elements when you pull up to your listing or staged property could be the difference between ‘Come on in!’ or ‘Quick, keep going!’ I don’t mean a row of freshly planted flowers isn’t pretty but is it balanced?
Set the stage at the front door with these 5 elements and notice how you can feel the balance. If you can feel it, so can potential buyers. Here is one scenario…you canmix and match the 5 elements as long as you have at least 3 of the 5.
- Wood feeds fire and the color is green (grass). Shape of front door is vertical…done.
- Fire isenergetic and red is a great front door color. Triangle shape solar lights along pathway is perfect. Fire feeds earth with ash.
- Earth is natural like a new welcome mat…make it large, very large. Earth makes metal.
- Metal makes water. Using shiny brass or chrome front door knob and kick plate, address numbers.
- Water can be symbolized with blackiron in the light fixtures, the solar lighting posts, house numbers, small water feature.
By using the chart, you can basically use the shapes, colors, and the senses to create the balance you need…the balance that will work for you and not against you. Give it a try and see the results (feel the results)
