The 4th Annual Watershed Festival will be held at the Caldwell Recreation Center and Park in Redding on Saturday, May 3. People coming from up and down the Sacramento River will attend this FREE outdoor event to celebrate our healthy habitats and natural resources.

“This event is about education and fun,” said Leslie Bryan, Shasta-Tehama Shedheads, a group of local Watershed Coordinators. “(A watershed is) from ridge-top to stream and everything in between,” she explains. “It’s the area of land that catches rain and drains into a stream, river, lake or groundwater.”

There will be exhibits, interactive displays, music, art and kids’ activities including a ‘Watershed Passport Activity’ and a ‘You Tube Contest.’ Exhibitors include representatives from local agencies, schools, art groups and organizations from Red Bluff to Shasta Lake, all with the mission “to make a difference for tomorrow, today.”

The Festival is open to the public between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. It is a non-profit event by the efforts of the Shasta-Tehama Shedheads and sponsored by the Shasta Conservation Fund.
