Well its official. Last night’s DNC (Democratic National Convention) proved to be a night that will go down in history…with Barack Obama being the first black man ever to officially receive the presidential nomination from a large political party.
Obama raised the roof at the DNC by making a suprise appearance at the event himself after former president Clinton praised Obama and promised to back him after a suprising speach that mentioned Obama’s name 15 times. This is a sharp contrast to the less-than-friendly words Clinton had during his wife’s campaign against Obama but it is clear to everyone that the Clinton’s have rallied together to pose a united front for Obama’s campaign…if only to represent their party well. Regardless of what happens at the polls, Hilary Clinton has been a long-time favorite and getting the support of the majority of her followers is a move that Obama needs to make before polling begins.
What’s next for Obama? Going to speak at Invesco Field on the anniversary of Martin Luther King’s “I have a dream” speech…this is sure to be a media frenzy and keep Obama in the news for days to come.
