Today’s local real estate market update, straight from the Shasta MLS database:

• Residential Listings: There are 1,699 active listings and another 238 listings that are pending (in escrow).  Year-to-date and month-to-date we have had 19 listings that have sold (closed escrow) in January.  Overall statistic for the year 2007: there were 2, 136 listings that sold (closed escrow) and were recorded in the MLS database.
• Vacant Land: There are 1,090 active listings and another 76 listings that are pending (in escrow).  Year-to-date and month-to-date we have had 2 listings that have sold (closed escrow) in January.  Overall statistic for the year 2007: there were 382 listings that sold (closed escrow) and were recorded in the MLS database.
• Commercial Property: There are 145 active listings and another 17 listings that are pending (in escrow).  Year-to-date and month-to-date we have had 1 listing that has sold (closed escrow) in January.  Overall statistic for the year 2007: there were 57 listings that sold (closed escrow) and were recorded in the MLS database.
