Today’s local real estate market update, straight from the Shasta MLS database:

• Residential Listings: (Up 30 listings from last week)  There are 1,727 active listings and another 241 listings that are pending (in escrow).  Year-to-date and month-to-date we have had 45 listings that have sold (closed escrow) in January.  Overall statistic for the year 2007: there were 2, 140 listings that sold (closed escrow) and were recorded in the MLS database.
• Vacant Land: (Up 3 listings from last week) There are 1,098 active listings and another 70 listings that are pending (in escrow).  Year-to-date and month-to-date we have had 8 listings that have sold (closed escrow) in January.  Overall statistic for the year 2007: there were 382 listings that sold (closed escrow) and were recorded in the MLS database.
• Commercial Property: (Down 1 listing from last week)There are 143 active listings and another 18 listings that are pending (in escrow).  Year-to-date and month-to-date we have had 3 listings that have sold (closed escrow) in January.  Overall statistic for the year 2007: there were 57 listings that sold (closed escrow) and were recorded in the MLS database.
