Today’s local real estate market update, straight from the Shasta MLS database:

• Residential Listings: (Down 2 listings from yesterday)  There are 1,697 active listings and another 248 listings that are pending (in escrow).  Year-to-date and month-to-date we have had 22 listings that have sold (closed escrow) in January.  Overall statistic for the year 2007: there were 2, 136 listings that sold (closed escrow) and were recorded in the MLS database.
• Vacant Land: (Up 5 listings from yesterday) There are 1,095 active listings and another 76 listings that are pending (in escrow).  Year-to-date and month-to-date we have had 2 listings that have sold (closed escrow) in January.  Overall statistic for the year 2007: there were 382 listings that sold (closed escrow) and were recorded in the MLS database.
• Commercial Property: (Down 1 listing from yesterday)There are 144 active listings and another 17 listings that are pending (in escrow).  Year-to-date and month-to-date we have had 1 listing that has sold (closed escrow) in January.  Overall statistic for the year 2007: there were 57 listings that sold (closed escrow) and were recorded in the MLS database.
