Well after being a landmark in Downtown Redding for 17 years, Cheesecake’s Unlimited has decided to close the doors of its downtown Redding restaurant. According to Redding.com, Nick Parker, owner of the restaurant has cited the finances and stress of running both businesses as the reason the doors will be closing. After his partner leaving the business late last year, Parker continued to run the restaurants on his own.
A hope was that the new Shasta College Health Sciences building would attract some new patrons to the restaurant, however, a large increase in business wasn’t ever realized and Parker decided to take some action to eliminate some of the stresses of owning both businesses.
The positive is that the other Cheesecake’s Unlimited or “Cheesecakes” as most of us Reddingites call it…will remain open for both lunch and dinner as usual! This comes as a big sigh of relief for most of us who frequent the restaurants.
If you haven’t taken the time to visit, here is my usual order: full order of Feta Chicken Salad (you can take it home if it is too large but it is WONDERFUL)…plus a slice of heavenly raspberry cheesecake with EXTRA caramel sauce! Of course, you can get mocha, Baileys, plain, lemon…the list goes on!
