Most of us have heard about this wonderfully educational exhibit from friends or family in large cities…now it is finally coming to Redding’s Own Turtle Bay Museum! Bodies Revealed is a fascinating and real look at the human body through actual human bodies. The bodies on display have been preserved using groundbreaking technology and is designed to show exhibit-goers the actual depth of what our bodies look like under the covering of our skin.
Turtle Bay president Michael Warren expects that when the exhibit opens May 24th it will be one of the most talked-about events ever at the museum….they are also expecting a record number of out-of-towners to come to the exhibit from hundreds of miles away. The cost of the exhibit For non-member is $23 (ages 13 - 64), $19 (ages 4 - 12 or seniors) and for members it is $16 (ages 13 - 64), or $13 (ages 4 -12 or seniors). The museum is also having Bodies Revealed Themed Events entitled “Figure Drawing Workshops” Tuesday, June 24th and Wednesday, June 25th from 5:30pm - 7:30pm in which Tina Casebeer teaches the art of figure drawing in connection with Bodies Revealed. In the
two-part class, studenst will learn about gesture, shading, proportions and more. Much of the class will be held in the Bodies Revealed exhibit hall where students will draw directly from the human figures. Call 242-3108 to register as space will be limited.
